Devlog 1: In the Beninging...
Howdy.
This is the first devlog for TANIK Protocol, which is a game I started working on today. I've tried making a few games before, but I've always hit a roadblock partway through development and dropped them. I've recently been inspired by watching Thor from PirateSoftware to try and be more structured, which for me means creating a design document and an actual development timeline. I figured that while I was at it I might as well try doing some kind of regular devlog to track progress, so here we are.
I'll try to write one of these a week or something.
So far, I've made most of the design document; all that's left is the timeline. I've also started to throw some stuff together in Godot. I have a character that moves and turns towards the mouse, and a camera that follows them and floats in the direction the camera is pointing. I'm not sure I explained that well, but think Hotline Miami and you have the right idea.
